There are many advantages using the
internet on language learning. In using internet, teachers can improve their
teaching method. So, today I will introduce to you about CALL. What is CALL? CALL
or computer-assisted language learning is an application to improve you to
develop your teaching and learning process that connect to a computer. When
using CALL, the students will pay attention with you and the class is more
interactive.
The main goal of CALL is to find
ways for using computers for the purpose of teaching and learning the language
in the class. More specifically, CALL is the use of computer technologies that
promote educational learning, including word processing, presentation packages,
guided drill and practice, tutor, simulation, problem solving, games,
multimedia CD-ROM, and internet applications such as e-mail, chat and the World
Wide Web (WWW) for language learning purposes
CALL authoring programs offer a
do-it-yourself approach to CALL. They were originally developed to enable
programmers to simplify the entry of data provided by language teachers. Modern
CALL authoring programs are designed to be used by language teachers who have
no knowledge of computer programming.
So, trough CALL teachers can improve
their teaching material. The classes are more interactive for students using
technology of CALL.
